California Dreamin’…

Cal­i­for­nia Dreamin est une chan­son du groupe The Mamas & The Papas, com­mer­cial­isée en 1965 ; une ver­sion précé­dente avait été enreg­istrée par Bar­ry McGuire au début des années 60.

La chan­son a été écrite en 1963 par John et Michelle Phillips pen­dant qu’ils habitaient à New York, inspirée par le mal du pays (la Cal­i­fornie) de Michelle.

Elle a été, entre autres, reprise en 1986 par les Beach Boys.

Elle est un élé­ment essen­tiel du film de Wong Kar-Wai Chungk­ing Express (1994).
